Friday the 13th – It’s not superstition, it’s redirection

From a young age, I heard so many things about superstitions related to Friday the 13th, like not walking under a ladder, not breaking a mirror, and avoiding black cats, as well as not opening an umbrella indoors or spilling salt, all of which were said to bring bad luck. For years, I let those fears guide me. But today, I’ve chosen to see things differently. I embrace this day as an opportunity to climb the ladder toward my own version of success. I gaze into the mirror to recognize my beauty and worth. Each black cat I encounter becomes a symbol of kindness and affection, reminding me that they walk toward me, reflecting the warmth I share. I open the umbrella to shield myself from negativity and use the spilled salt as a reminder to stabilize my blood pressure and keep calm in times of stress.

Life is all about perspective. We have the choice to uplift ourselves by recognizing the beautiful ways in which God offers us love and guidance, or we can remain trapped by the negativity that seeks to instill fear within us. It’s important to reflect on this choice; which path do you find yourself leaning towards?
